Eurobike 2027 will take place from June 30th to July 2nd with a focus on b2b

18 September 2026

In recent days, there have been rumors that Eurobike 2027 would have a new date change. Now it’s official: the Frankfurt fair will take place from June 30 to July 2. This morning in an online meeting, the Eurobike management explained the vision for the 2027 show. Among the speakers were two familiar faces for those who read the pages of Bikefortrade and with whom we have had the opportunity to interact a lot in recent months: Philipp Ferger, managing director of fairnamic, and Mathias Pietsch, show director of Eurobike. Here is what emerged during the press conference. Philipp, in 2026 Eurobike had high international attention, as well as the quality of visitors, despite the decreasing number of exhibitors. What do you think? What are your conclusions?I am very happy to clarify today and show our new offer to the bike industry. As mentioned, the fair in 2027 will be held in June and we hope to please the sector by resolving the ongoing conflict between events in this way. We have faced new competitive situations that do not represent our system of values and our goals as international players. But this situation did not prevent anyone from evaluating the work we did in 2026 correctly. The entire world of the bicycle industry was represented not only in terms of exhibitors but also visitors. New technical products and innovations were visible and tangible. The conversations were of high quality and all the important representatives were there. It was a very international show and 60% of the attendees came from abroad. My conclusion from this event is that it was a great achievement that many probably did not expect, but to be honest, we have had a significant decline in visitors and exhibitors. But what is important is that we have learned a lot and used this new knowledge to create a better product, a better fair concept for next year, and to change the sections that were not working. From Eurobike 2026, we have a new director in Mathias Pietsch. He is an industry expert who has used this time to get to know the team and have conversations with partners and the board, and we have our first positive results. It has been a great pleasure for me to take on this responsibility because Eurobike is a well-known entity in the cycling world. There is great potential for the future, and we want to continue developing Eurobike together with you. It is also clear that the industry is undergoing a very difficult transformation process. There are new competitors, new formats that have entered the market, but there is also a strong technological dynamism, and the feedback we have received has convinced us that there is a need for an international platform. We must continue to fuel the fire of innovation and the connections between different technological realities and services. I want to develop a clear product with the team and refine the concept of Eurobike and bring it into the future. During and immediately after the fair, we collected data from the market and visitors, and one thing became quite clear: to increase the return on investment. Eurobike 2027 will take place from June 30 to July 2 next year and will focus on three days dedicated to B2B. This means a focus on non-consumer visitors, and with this date, we will be the first in the calendar at the beginning of the season. Eurobike will bring together traditional partners and distributors to create a platform for international exhibitors. The fundamental functions of Eurobike in the future will be business, innovation, network, and visibility, with a particular focus on technological innovation. The foundation is clear. Eurobike brings together the cycling and ecomobility industry and must be the starting point for business, communication, and market entry. Our goal is international, and we want to invite all exhibitors who want to launch their new products to come to Eurobike next year, providing them with the necessary support. There are two changes. Why is Eurobike now in June and why on an annual basis unlike what was previously stated? This decision is a good example of the work we have done with the industry because we are now presenting a concept discussed with exhibitors during the works. We quickly realized that we have a very different situation now compared to the previously announced September date, which was viewed skeptically by many. We do not want to have a date conflict with other events. By choosing the dates from June 30 to July 2, we can stay in line with the innovation cycles in the industry. We have perceived that the market and the industry need an annual rhythm because we are in a competitive situation, and everyone in Europe now has the opportunity to show new products in June. The date was an important issue, but another point is knowing what to expect from this new format. Eurobike 2027 will completely change position by moving to Halls 3, 4, and 5 centered on the Agora, our large outdoor space with a more compact configuration, and everyone will be able to orient themselves more quickly. The Agora will be the center of the 2027 edition also for the test track, exhibitions, and other interaction opportunities. Additionally, we have thought of another concept: we will create different worlds in various halls. There will be different spaces dedicated to sports and performance, urban mobility and logistics, production and sales, and offers focused on circular economies and smart cities. All the conversations we have had with customers have shown us that this concept has generated a lot of interest and that we are on the right track. Urban mobility will not be a niche product, but we see it as a great growth opportunity in the future and will have visibility in all pavilions, in all environments, and in all the offerings of Eurobike 2027. Many exhibitors have said that participating must first pay off the investment made. What have you deduced from this?In recent weeks, we have worked on this and now present a new offer to showcase products, companies, meeting points, and visibility. We have also worked on our prices: a standard space now costs 164 euros per square meter, at least until October 31. There will also be premium offers where spaces can be combined with different concepts and a plug and play version for all exhibitors who do not have their own structures. We are working with our partners to create a good offer, and we are very proud of a new product we are offering called Your Business Space. These are private meeting spaces in Hall 3 for confidential B2B meetings; we also have an open lounge, and there will be a new VIP program where the most important decision-makers will be invited, and exhibitors can present products. We have not forgotten to implement digital tools that will allow participation in various meetings and, of course, improve interaction opportunities, which is a very important point for us and a decisive factor in increasing visibility. At this moment, what role do international visibility and media play?International visibility and media have been a fundamental part of Eurobike in the past and will play an even more important role in the future. In addition to being a physical meeting point, the show will primarily be an international opportunity for the media to showcase innovations and technological trends that will receive enormous attention even outside the three days of the fair. With social media, we are expanding the impact of Eurobike to reach the B2C world, and this strength we have will also be implemented in the future and should provide benefits for exhibitors. We have had 4 million contacts created by influencers and creators, and if we look at the whole year, we are talking about 13 million contacts. Why does Eurobike play a central role in the future of the bike industry?Because it meets and intercepts the precise points that the market demands. We now have three B2B days that take place annually and an international focus. Innovations and trends will be shown by us before others, we have partners in 150 countries, and in all of these, we have contacts with all industries and markets. We have 60% of international visitors, and this remains our benchmark, but we also know that we must offer a good product, and that is exactly what the team is working on together with industry professionals from around the world.
