MVC Group acquires Tailfin and enters the premium bikepacking sector

2 October 2026

MVC Group, a group active in cycling and outdoor sports apparel, has announced the acquisition of Tailfin, a global leader in the premium technical bikepacking segment. Founded in Bristol in 2017 by Nick Broadbent, CEO, mechanical engineer, and product designer, Tailfin has quickly established itself as an international reference point in premium bikepacking, from bags to racks and accessories, thanks to the ability to combine design and performance through a strongly innovation-oriented approach. The company has internally developed proprietary technologies protected by over 20 patents, building a position of excellence based on engineering quality, material research, and rigorous product development and validation processes. Over the past five years, Tailfin has recorded an average annual growth of about 50%, reaching nearly 10 million euros in revenue in global markets by 2025. More than half of the turnover was generated in the USA, UK, and Germany through a progressive international expansion that will now be further supported by the commercial, logistical, and industrial platform of MVC Group, present in 75 countries through 10 subsidiaries. The Founder and management team of Tailfin will continue to lead the company, of which they remain minority shareholders, ensuring strategic continuity and innovation capacity that have created a strong brand identity, now also supported by a growing community. The acquisition represents a significant acceleration of the development strategy of MVC Group, expanding its offering in cycling with a consistent brand for excellence positioning and a range of highly complementary products to the technical apparel of the brands Castelli and Sportful. At the same time, MVC Group acquires a heritage of technological skills, design capabilities, and intellectual property that, in perspective, can be leveraged for the development of new solutions also for triathlon and outdoor activities, areas in which MVC Group operates with the brands Zoot and Karpos. The operation announced today also positively reflects the path outlined by the three-year Industrial Plan of MVC Group, which aimed to achieve 150 million euros in revenue by 2028. In light of the new scope and growth opportunities generated by industrial and commercial synergies, MVC Group plans to revise upwards its development objectives, maintaining a solid financial structure consistent with the investments already planned.

Emilio Foร , CEO of MVC Group

Emilio Foร , CEO of MVC Group, stated: “The most valuable acquisitions are those that strengthen an organization’s capabilities. With Tailfin, we are not simply adding a new product category: we are integrating a brand of excellence consistent with the distinctive positioning and innovation-driven approach of our brands, as well as complementary to their offering. We are also integrating a strategic asset, namely the specific technological skills and extensive intellectual property of the company, which could generate product innovation across the various disciplines in which we operate, from cycling to triathlon to outdoor sports. We welcome Nick and the entire team and look forward to working together to enhance the enormous potential for further international growth of Tailfin and the new phase of common development.”

Nick Broadbent, founder and CEO of Tailfin

Nick Broadbent, founder and CEO of Tailfin, commented: “Since the inception of Tailfin, we have invested heavily in innovation to develop products capable of redefining the standards of bikepacking and cycling tourism, areas experiencing strong growth. Joining MVC Group will allow us to further accelerate this path, leveraging the Group’s industrial strength and international presence, without sacrificing the identity, autonomy, and culture of innovation that have made Tailfin a brand of such great success.”
